About the opportunity:
We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our growing EC&I department within our Defence and Security division based from our Glasgow office. Working as a Lead Engineer with a team of EC&I engineers/designers in developing/reviewing design and engineering deliverables throughout various stages of the project. Reporting to the EC&I Director/Project Manager you will preferably be degree qualified with an IEng/CEng or working towards professional registration, and possess a background in feasibility/assessment studies, project design/engineering work in the Nuclear and Defence Sector. A willingness to occasionally work in locations throughout the UK is preferable.

• Possess in depth knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline.
• Experience in HV/LV distribution and generation systems and associated control and protection systems including design and analysis and using industry standard software tools (ETAP/AMTECH).
• Experience in:
o 60Hz Distribution
o SCADA systems,
o Lightning Protection Systems,
o Earthing systems,
o Cathodic Protection,
o Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems,
o UPS systems,
o Electrical Building Services
o AutoCAD software
• Experience of working on Nuclear Safety Implicated systems and implementing Safety Case requirements.
• Experience in preparing Technical Reports and substantiation of electrical designs.
• Possess suitable security clearance or capable of obtaining relevant NSV clearance and be a sole UK national.
• Willing to travel and relocation if/when required.
