Jacobs Energy, Chemicals and Resources Business Unit undertakes a range of projects within the oil, gas and chemicals industry. We are a multi-disciplinary team serving clients internationally at all stages of projects. We are focused mostly on Front End Engineering Design and on Framework based Detailed Design activities. We operate from offices in Manchester, Glasgow and permanently located site offices in the UK.
We require a Senior Project Manager to work on various UK and International projects.
The ideal candidate with have a solid understanding of Project management principals and a proven track record in delivery of projects leading a team. They will be able to demonstrate experience of technical management and leadership as well as being capable of “hands on” design activity.
Essential Experience –
A commitment to high awareness of current safety legislation / implementation is an imperative.
Previous experience at the Ineos Grangemouth site would be advantageous.
Proven Project management/engineering experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
Proven track record of successful delivery in a site based project environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects at different phases simultaneously
This is a client facing role and as such an ability to develop good Client relationships is required.
Preferred experience in projects where Design and Construction phases have a significant overlap.
Ability to manage a range of complex tasks/projects simultaneously.
Ability to manage all technical aspects of the project
Proven ability to control scope, schedule and direct/indirect costs.
Understanding of project management techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work to tight timescales/self starter.

Process/ mechanical background preferred but strong project management skills essential
Suitably qualified to degree level
Chartered Engineer preferred but not essential.
Experience in Study / Front End Design stages of a Project
Awareness in respect of planning and cost software systems, MS Office software experience.
Previous experience of working as a member of a team to deliver a continuous Programme of Projects to a single Client would be an advantage.
