Your Impact:

Jacobs in in search of an experienced Radio Frequency Engineer to join our Electrical System Engineering Support (ESESIII) team .

The ESES III contract includes the provision of electrical/electronic engineering support services and related work to the Engineering and Technology Directorate .

The work includes:

  • The study, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification and operations of spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions.

  • Ensuring RF test equipment is calibrated to industry standards.

  • Testing the performance of existing RF systems or networks. Analyzing RF transmission and receiving systems and suggesting improvements.

  • Using computer software to design RF installations for new wireless networks.

  • Troubleshooting spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware issues.

  • Conducting laboratory tests on RF equipment. Ensuring regulatory standards are met.

  • Design, develop, test, integration, and evaluation of spacecraft RF system electronics.

  • Design of spacecraft RF spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware.

  • Design, test, and evaluation of spacecraft RF spaceflight, airborne and ground system hardware.

  • Design, development, and test of flight ready spacecraft RF spaceflight cards.

  • Simulation and analysis of spacecraft RF and electrical systems.

  • Provide box-level integration and test support. Provide spacecraft-level testing and launch support.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including Interface with other spacecraft subsystems to complete integration and test activities.

  • Perform quick analysis and reporting for various power system components.

Here’s What You’ll Need:


  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar field.

  • At least 5 years' experience as an Radio Frequency engineer in the RF, Antenna and telecommunications industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of Radio Frequency networks, amplifiers and receivers.

  • Proficient with Radio Frequency design software.

  • Ability to travel when required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment.

  • Ability to work without supervision. Good troubleshooting skills.

Strongly preferred

Experience working with spaceflight/high reliability hardware.

  • Carry out automated performance tests, using LabVIEW and develop test fixtures, setup test hardware, prepare flight hardware for testing, and perform testing and test data analysis and test report writing.

  • Must be well acquainted with space hardware handling requirements and contamination control in the handling and protection of aerospace hardware and subsystems possibly in a clean room and laminar flow bench environments, and be ESD cognizant, trained and certified to handle flight hardware.
