The Digital Delivery Lead acts as a Project Coordinator who implements all work procedures in Digital Engineering, BIM and Digital Construction during the design, construction, and handover of a project. This coordinator leads and supports the use of digital technology to create BIM/PIM in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) sector.

The Digital Delivery Lead is responsible for project coordination, implementing and managing project support tasks including oversight and support of quality, IT, and even application development. Consideration for all the necessary factors of project implementation and completion, categorize them, and use them to complete the digital environment into a productive and collaborative one. Goals include: defining an application and BIM/PIM strategy, implementing systems for communication and data exchange, ensuring seamless collaboration, managing people and resources, monitoring the process for potential improvements, and implementing enabling tools for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining a particular facility.

This position is part of the Operations team reporting to the Design Innovation Manager.

  • Responsible for day-to-day project digital delivery, BIM/PIM, and quality control tasks, as assigned by the Digital Delivery manager. Work daily with project management staff to maintain the BIM/PIM process that captures client specified features of a BIM/PIM implementation.

  • Author the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for projects, which outlines how the client’s requirements will be met.

  • Work under the direction of Digital Delivery manager and/or Project Managers to deliver modeling, clash detection/resolution, coordinated drawings, simulations, animations, and renderings as needed to meet the needs of clients.

  • Track, collect, and implement RFI responses, cut sheet information, equipment information, and client directives on BIM/PIM coordination

  • Develops, documents and implements practices and standards to optimize efficiency and accuracy of Digital Delivery projects.

  • Use software such as SmartPlant, Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ProjectWise and BIM360 (among others) to solve complex Digital Delivery challenges.

  • Plan for timely Digital Delivery kickoff meetings with the project team and follow the established processes.

  • Provide quality control and audits of work on projects.

  • Ensure project delivery follows scope and preemptively identify potential out-of-scope items and report accordingly.

  • Works with project teams to integrate BIM/PIM into their current practices and enhance project value.

  • Actively seek out improved workflows and strategies for project delivery.

  • Research new technologies, construction problems, and technical solutions, as assigned by Project Managers. Research future trends and emerging technologies.

  • Assist Digital Delivery manager in preparing proposals and marketing material.

  • Provide or coordinate end-user support and training for Digital Delivery technologies, focusing on SmartPlant, Revit and project delivery applications.

  • Develop and post training content and industry articles on company intranet.

  • Serve as de-facto task coordinator on tasks within larger projects.

  • Sit in on large project meetings and be responsible for meeting minutes as applicable to BIM/PIM and following up on action items.

  • Act as a Liaison with Global Design Centers and other Jacobs offices when work-sharing on projects.

  • Actively pursue continuing education/training in new technologies and tools.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or other disciplines relevant to digital delivery is desired, but not required.

  • Excellent oral, written communication skills and presentation capabilities required.

  • Must be willing to travel for pursuits, projects, client relationship management, talent development, etc.

  • Experience in leading global or regional teams.

  • Able to demonstrate external and internal thought leadership skills and experience.

  • Experience with SmartPlant applications, particularly in an integrated environment, is desired but not required.

  • Understanding of Integrated Project Delivery, Lean Construction, Sustainability, 4D Construction and Advanced Work Package Concepts and Methods is desired but not required.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Architecture, Engineering or other disciplines related fields.
