Your Impact:

The Jacobs Advanced Manufacturing Building Mechanical team has an opening for an HVAC Subject Matter Expert in the Dry Room design of ultra-low humidity rooms for supporting our Electric Vehicle and Battery Manufacturing clients. The best part is you can live anywhere within the U.S. to support our team remotely. You’ll work alongside our team of engineers and designers, perform field investigations, interface with clients & vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.

Here are a few other key facets of your role within our team:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the design and implementation of HVAC systems for dry rooms in electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facilities, with a specific focus on ultra-low humidity rooms

  • Lead the development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems with a focus on dry room systems

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations

  • Develop detailed engineering plans, including equipment selection, sizing, and layout, and finalize design documents, including specifications, sequences of operations, and piping layout

  • Led the conceptual design and preliminary design documents, which include calculations related to sizing and selecting these systems and development of Air Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and General Arrangements

  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and work in concert with other design discipline leads

  • Mentor and teach other members of the team to develop their technical expertise

  • Ensure projects are executed and directed in a profitable manner while interfacing with the client to define project requirements from concept through startup

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Demonstrated expertise in dry room design, including experience with electric vehicle and battery manufacturing clients

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a focus on dry room design for manufacturing facilities, including experience in ultra-low humidity rooms

  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to the design of HVAC systems for dry rooms

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and thrive working in a supportive project-driven environment

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and project managers

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Hired applicants will be able to purchase company stock and have the opportunity to receive a performance discretionary bonus. The base salary for this position is $93,700 - $123,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations if remote. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
