As Transportation / Traffic Engineer, you will be managing and supporting a Traffic Signal Systems Management Center (TSSMC) initiative located in Puerto Rico on a full-time basis. The Traffic Engineer, among several responsibilities shall plan, organize, and coordinate traffic and transportation engineering studies, programming, systems integration, prepare or manage designs for traffic engineering projects, conduct or manage traffic studies and collect traffic engineering data. In this role, you will also manage the operation, including scheduling and task assignments. Additional responsibilities include coordination of contract activities with Client representatives and providing information regarding sensitive aspects of the operation. . The Transportation / Traffic Engineer will directly supervise the daily operational aspects of the TSSMC, such as daily report preparation, assignment of duties to other TSSMC consultant staff, coordination of incident response with the Client Traffic Management Center, providing guidance to other TSSMC personnel regarding best practices.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Traffic Engineering
Must possess and maintain Puerto Rico Professional Engineering (PE) license
Must have at least 5 years of professional traffic engineering experience
Thorough knowledge of traffic and transportation engineering principles, as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities
Knowledge of MUTCD generally chapter 4 specifically
Use of computer software, such as Synchro and Sidra, to perform computer simulations to corroborate problems and validate recommended solutions
Fully bilingual in Spanish and English
Ideally, you’ll also have:
City, municipal and larger geography traffic-related experience
Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other employees, government officials, contractors, suppliers, and the general public
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
