Description

Jacobs has partnered with NASA to support space flightprograms for more than 40 years. While the majority of work is directly insupport of LaRC, other industry partners and Government agencies may besupported at remote sites as directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). TheCenter Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract comprises ofthree major categories of work – operations, maintenance, and engineering(OME). A brief description of each category is: Maintenance – Research andinstitutional facility maintenance includes, but not limited to, preventivemaintenance, trouble calls, repairs, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM),Facility Condition Assessment (FCA), and maintenance/operation of centralutilities (e.g., electrical power distribution, potable water, storm waterdrainage)

  • Operations – Facilities Operations support includes, but not limitedto, wind tunnels, laboratories, and test stands testing, instrumentationcalibration/repair; plant and utilities (e.g., high pressure air, LiquidNitrogen (LN2) and Steam Plant); technology development and administration,including, but not limited to, Facility Automation Systems (FAS) and DataAcquisition Systems (DAS)

  • Engineering – Facility engineering includes, but notlimited to, engineering studies, design, construction, construction management,configuration management, tactical engineering, pressure systemrecertification, project management/planning support.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Work Control Center (WCC), the MaintenanceController will perform duties such as scheduling all maintenance activitiesfor assigned craft

  • Track all proactive and reactive maintenance work orders by priority

  • Schedule all work based on manpower andfacility availability, compile metrics for weekly schedule meeting, and conductschedule meeting

  • Ensure all materials are on site and available for taskexecution, continual communication with shops and facilities

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenshiprequired. Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering orassociated disciplines, and six (6) years of related experience. Additionalrelevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience. Positionrequires comprehensive knowledge of programs gained through long and variedwork experience in field of specialty. Must be able to effectively communicateboth orally and written with effective use of visual aids.

Essential Functions:

Work Environment

Office environment. (50-65%) Test/Industrial Environment – May be exposed toareas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals andindustrial facilities. Travel between various facilities/test operations is required and may bringexposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (20%)

Physical Requirements:

Potential exposure to high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, propellants andthe like. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as wellas climb various heights, crawl in confined spaces, and lift up to 35 lbs. (25%)

Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.

Hardware platforms – Microsoft PC and OS

Software: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) (75%)

Attendance:

Regular attendance mandatory (100%) Overtime/work outside normal schedulerequired (<20%)

Other EssentialFunctions:

U. S. Citizenship required. A valid driver's license isrequired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance asrequired. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professionalbehavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose asafety/risk hazard to the employee or others. The work environment requires theability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company andthe client. Maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a SafePlan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a company providedtool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents and injuries; assuch, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.
