Description

Jacobs has partneredwith NASA to support space flight programs for more than 40 years. While themajority of work is directly in support of LaRC, other industry partners andGovernment agencies may be supported at remote sites as directed by the ContractingOfficer (CO). The Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE)contract comprises of three major categories of work – operations, maintenance,and engineering (OME).

Pressurere-certification technicians perform routine inspections on process pipingsystems and ground based pressure vessels based on government inspectionstandards and criteria. Additional job requirements and positionresponsibilities include: developing inspection plans, updating pressure systemdocumentation, field identification and verification of system components,research of system components and developing contact reports based oncommunications with component manufacturers and vendors, developing isometricsketches to reflect changes in system configuration, developing isometric weldmap drawings to reflect changes in system configuration and maintainingindividual pressure system documentation in hard copy and electronic format.

Comply with company safety requirements in all facets of work assignments.Maintain good housekeeping habits and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.Two (2) years of college with courses in engineering, mathematics, or science,or two (2) years relevant experience, or any combination of relevanteducation/experience for a total of two (2) years. Ability to understandbasic engineering terminology.

Work Environment

Officeenvironment. (75%) Test Environment- May be exposed to areas of high noiselevels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities.Travel between facilities and test sites is required. (5%)

PhysicalRequirements

Must havesufficient mobility to enter all areas of test facilities. Must be able towalk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl,and lift up to 35 lbs. (10%)

Other EssentialFunctions

USCitizenship required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must putforward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotesteamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the positionand must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others. Must beable to balance scope, schedule and budget to insure project success. Thework environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals atall levels of the company and the client. Must be able to obtain and maintain asecurity clearance as required. A valid driver’s license is required.
