Your Impact:
Jacobs is searching for a Design BSEE. Primary responsibility will be creation of calculations, drawings and specifications in development of bid documents. Additional duties will include post design support, RFIs, RFCs, submittal reviews, and troubleshooting field installations
Responsibilities:
Performs specific and limited engineering tasks of a broader assignment, under the direction of an experienced engineer.
Prepare computations, specifications, and report of limited scope and complexity
Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations
Perform power distribution system design including high-medium-low voltage substation, utilities and facilities design,substation relaying, protection device coordination analysis using software (ETAP) preferred, adjustable/variable speed controllers design from low to high HP machines
Capable of designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication systems. General experience in controls and instrumentation, prepare engineering analysis, studies, reports, construction cost estimates and construction management
Make decisions on engineering problems and methods and resolves important technical question through the use of advanced techniques and the extension or modification of standard practices
Conducts analysis and evaluation or design of unique and complex tasks through the development of new or improved methods and procedures
Accomplishes assignments by defining requirements, developing criteria, searching for information, developing concepts, coordinating intra or interdisciplinary interfaces and controlling allocated resources
May plan, schedule, and coordinate the work of others on a large engineering project or on smaller projects containing many complex features or requiring detailed analysis
Prepare engineering studies, reports, design review presentations, construction cost estimates & construction management services. Knowledge of code compliance.
General experience in process control and automation. Allen Bradley PLC and LabVIEW experience preferred
Must have a PE License
Here’s What You’ll Need:
US Citizenship is required. We prefer an Electrical Engineer degree from an ABET accredited engineering school and eight (8) to twelve (12) years related engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and seven (7) to ten (10) years of related engineering experience or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school and two (2) to five (5) years of related engineering experience.

Work Environment
Office environment. (85%)
Test facilities and active construction site environment - loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (15%) (Field work is at primary work site.)
Physical Requirements:
Limited time spent on future construction site when preparing design bid packages. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb. Visual observation of electrical related systems, hardware, articles (20%). Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb various heights, crawl in confined spaces (Manholes and Vaults), and lift up to 35 lbs. (20%), body mobility (60%) and ability (where applicable) to distinguish colors (10%).
Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc.) (85%) including the following typical PC Software-Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (15%)
Attendance:
Regular attendance mandatory (100%)
Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (5% - 10%)

U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required. Valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Must be able to balance scope, schedule and budget to insure project success. The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
