IT Systems Administrator

Description

A professional IT Systems Administrator that will successfully support and maintain a stable IT infrastructure on Commercial and SCIF environments. Providing support from telecommunications, back-end databases, servers, AD enterprise, applications and desktop support. Ensuring the stable operation of systems, seamless flow of information and proper functioning of end-points throughout the organizations operations. Assisting with the triaging of IT Support tickets within the Tier 1 queue to technicians across corporate campuses. Assisting leadership with maintaining ticketing, support standards and documentation in conjunction with the NCR IT Director and Enterprise Support Manager.

JobDescription:

  • Contribute in the daily workflow oftickets, assisting with the triaging of tier 1 tickets to the appropriate queuesand technicians within the IT ticketing system.

  • Resolve, contribute, and provideprescriptive solutions to IT needs supporting SCIF and corporate IT operationsand support staff.

  • Work till successful resolution allassigned and self-assigned tickets in coordination with daily IT ticketing activitiesand projects.

  • Assist with the successful administrationof SCIF and Corporate IT information systems within the NCR under the directionof the IT Director and IT Manager.

  • Actively participate in theimplementation of hardware and software; build, upgrade, patch and migrating ofnetwork utilities, servers, systems and applications in the SCIF and CorporateIT environments

  • Monitor and schedule maintenanceand backups of server infrastructure, virtual and bare-metal within the SCIFand Corporate IT environments.

  • Contributing, participating, andplanning in customer surge support efforts

  • Contributing in the training of tier1 IT support personnel, ensuring cross-training and support redundancy

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience as a SA (systems administrator) for a full-service IT support teams in a Windows AD environment.

  • In depth knowledge of Active Directory Domain Controllers

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with systems infrastructure support for servers, bare-metal and virtualized, network gear, and security appliances/firewalls

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience in systems maintenance, tuning, backup and recovery modelling and planning.

  • Ability to be stationed at a main office with the ability to travel to sites within the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area

  • Experience working within an IT support team and ability to contribute and collaborate in daily support activity

  • Secret -or- TS/SCI Clearance

  • 10 years experience or 7 years experience with a BS degree in a computer, engineering or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and seven (5) years of progressive, relevant experience

  • Willingness to travel to multiple campuses within the Northern VA, MD and DC Metro area.

DesiredRequirements:

Industrycertifications that support IT Management like: CCNA, MCSE, CISSP, CompTIA A ,Network , Security

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
