Jacobs is seeking a Network Technician with an active TS/SCI with Poly to join their team in the Hanover, MD area. Duties will include:
Network evaluation, hardware/software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, tuning, automation scripting and general user support.
Duties will also include maintaining system documentation, developing infrastructure support procedures, and providing security support.
Provides technical support to internal and external personnel on highly complex network system installation processes.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
TS/SCI w/ Poly required
Two (2) years of networking-related experience or a Computer Science oriented Associates degree or higher is required.
Basic knowledge of packet flow analysis, TDP/IP, and basic network services required.
Experience with VMWare, VSphere, and VCenter virtualization tools.
Experience with networking technologies such as routers, switches, encryption, and firewalls.
Experience with TCP/IP networking, networking architecture, computer and operating systems.
Experience with network security principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Experience with Cisco hardware and operating systems.
Proven ability to work effectively with direction and some supervision while being conscious of how your work interacts with that of others.
Possess drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
Effective communication, writing, documentation, and requirements gatherings skills are needed to be effective in this role for working with other members of the Team and with the Customer to meet the requirements of the program.
Desired Requirements :
Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) or Network + certification preferred.
A working knowledge of both Linux and Windows platforms.
Understanding of Software Defined Networking & Micro-segmentation
Understanding of VXLAN and logical networking concepts
Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.)
Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
Ability to work flex and overtime hours with some weekend hours expected.
Ability to solve problems quickly and completely; analytical problem-solving skills; adept at root-cause analysis and mitigation.
