Your Impact:

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Splunk Administrator to support our Maryland customer. The Splunk Administrator may be required interact with senior management, as necessary. The Splunk Administrator needs strong experience in Splunk configuration files, RegEx, and comfort in using the Linux CLI and Windows. The Splunk Administrator needs experience in SOAP, REST API, web-based technologies, and scripting languages including JavaScript, Python, Perl and shell scripting, XML, and HTML. In addition, the Splunk Administrator needs experience in requirements analysis, engineering, and testing in real-world environments.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage multiple assignments, changing priorities, and work independently with little oversight

  • Build, implement, and administer Splunk in Windows and Linux environments

  • Work with existing and custom Splunk applications and add-ons to fulfill customer needs

  • Provide overall engineering and design support for a distributed Splunk environment consisting of heavy forwarders, indexers, and search head servers, spanning security, performance, and operational roles

  • Editing and maintaining Splunk configuration files and apps

  • Onboard data to Splunk via forwarder, scripted inputs, TCP/UDP, and modular inputs from sources such as FireEye, Blue Coat, F5, Cisco, Palo Alto, syslog, etc.

  • Create, manage, and support automation solutions for Splunk deployment and orchestration in on-premise and cloud environments

  • Documentation, reporting, presentation, teamwork are among the expected duties and mission of the task order

  • Provide support to test enterprise COTS solutions Collaborate with Engineers and development staff

  • Compile and submit a testing plan and report as formal deliverables

  • Complete testing actions according to scheduled deadlines Provide status updates in the form of weekly status reports

Here’s What You’ll Need:

A minimum of 7 years of engineering, analyst or software experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field may be substituted for 4 years of experience.

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance Required

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II qualification.

  • 3+ years of professional experience with system administration and System Event and system integrations.

  • 3+ year of work experience with Splunk real-time processing architecture and deployment; Splunk dashboard design a big plus.

  • Strong experience in Splunk configuration files, RegEx and comfort in using the Linux CLI and Windows.

  • Experience in SOAP, REST API, web-based technologies and scripting languages including JavaScript, Python, Perl and shell scripting, XML, HTML.

  • Experience in requirements analysis, engineering, and testing in real world environments.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals, MQ, SFTP, SSL.

  • Experience in Splunk DB Connect, ITSI, HEC is a plus.

  • Strong communication, written, and verbal skills with the ability and comfort level to do presentations to potential and existing customer audiences of 5-30 people.

  • Experience with software development, system architecture, and/or databases a plus.

Desired Requirements:

  • Understanding of PKI, PKE Applications

  • Understanding of cyber security

  • Customer service skills

  • Experience with enterprise ticketing systems such as Service Now

  • Splunk certification(s) a plus but not required
