Your Impact:

Jacobs seeks to add a highly talented Senior Contracts Manager to the National Capital Region Contracts organization. The position will be based in Columbia, MD with occasional travel to Herndon, VA. The primary responsibility for this position is to manage the contracts staff located in the Maryland offices while reporting directly to the Director of Contracts. Additionally, this position requires a thorough knowledge in federal contract administration services including but not limited to, budgeting, cost estimating, cost proposal preparation, contract negotiation, project accounting, financial analysis and reporting, contract compliance, project audits, project property management and any other business related support required by the programs/projects supported by the team. Lastly, the position will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating agreements, providing expert advice and counsel to the operations team on contractual items, and collaborating with the Performing Unit, Operations Leads, Sales organization and other functional organizations. Provide input into drafting and editing policy and procedure; provide training and counseling to staff. The Senior Manager Responsibilities include supervisory role, mentoring employees, and contract compliance.





Here’s What You’ll Need:


• BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus (15) fifteen years of contract experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience

• 5+ years of experience with managing a diverse federal contracts team

• Advanced oral and written communication skills are required along with comprehensive knowledge of company policies and procedures and work flow processes

• Experience with the negotiation of contractual documents under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other US government supplemental regulations

• Experience with Intelligence, DoD and commercial clients

• Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

• Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task

• Conducts strategic pricing planning, leads cost proposal development and participate in technical proposal preparation in compliance with the Federal Estimating System Manual, RFP requirements and other firm policies and procedures

• Knowledge of DCAA and DCMA audit standards, federal experience with proposal pricing and cost estimating

Position requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI). Clearance processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur. Occasional travel to Herndon, VA may be required.
