When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to work on site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. You’ll apply your technical experience in environmental remediation to perform project tasks while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team.

Based in Herndon, Virginia, you’ll have the opportunity to work on remediation projects across the region. You’ll lead field teams and data collection activities such as drilling and logging soil borings, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and soil vapor sampling. You’ll balance field work with time spent in the office working on data interpretation and visualization, quantitative modeling, report writing, and coordinating field work. Your analytical and technical writing skills will be called upon as you perform analysis of data from sampling, maps, and drawings and write clear and concise technical reports for a regulatory audience.

This is a Hybrid Work-From-Home position. This person will need to be local to the Herndon, VA/DC area, as it will require occasional local field work and office visits

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, geology or other closely related technical degree

• Professional environmental characterization and remediation project experience, including environmental sampling and subcontractor oversight

• Experience with various environmental media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments and evaluations, and remediation technologies

• HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain and maintain

• Ability to plan, perform, and oversee field work; ability to travel for field projects up to 30-60% of the time

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Experience as a Task Manager and/or Project Manager on environmental remediation projects

• Professional Engineer or Geologist license (P.E. or P.G.) or ability to obtain and maintain

• Strong technical writing and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with state and federal regulations; knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulatory frameworks

• Located in the Washington, D.C. area
