JACOBS is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner in Herndon, VA. Duties will include:
TheHRBP will be a champion of the Jacobs culture and values while partnering with employeesand management in designated performance unit(s)
The HRBP partners with senior leaders todeliver talent needs in support of organizational goals and objectives
The position requires building strong workingrelationships in order to serve as a trusted advisor to effectively implementand execute HR strategies focused on talent management and succession planning,talent review and strategic workforce planning, performance management,organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement
TheHRBP will provide support to the leaders of an organization that is undergoingrapid growth and transformation
Conducts weekly meetings with leadersin respective performance unit
Consults with line management,providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Analyzes trends and metrics inpartnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Maintains in-depth knowledge oflegal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducinglegal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legaldepartment as needed/required.
Provides day-to-day performancemanagement guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, careerdevelopment, disciplinary actions)
Works closely with management andemployees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivityand retention
Provides HR policy guidance andinterpretation
Provides guidance and input on performanceunit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Participates in identifying andevaluating training needs for teams and individuals in performance unit
Performs other related duties asassigned
10 years human resource business partner experience
2 years of supervisory experience
BSin related field or equivalent work experience; advanced degree a plus
In-depthknowledge and experience in multiple HR disciplines including employeeengagement, performance management, talent management, workforce effectiveness,succession planning, organizational development/design/effectiveness, changemanagement, rewards and recognition
Abilityto exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance ofresponsibilities
Maturityand professional demeanor to advise, challenge and partner with leaders inorder to quickly become a trusted partner within the business
Demonstratedability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborateeffectively
Worksindependently, with minimal guidance
Musthave excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, bothverbal and written
Mustbe a team player and be willing to be hands-on with tactical duties with anability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Abilityto comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicablelaws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
Abilityto acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs,qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practicesrelated to those factors
Excellenttime management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills
Proficientwith Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Experiencecoaching and mentoring skills
Position will be remote during the current office closureperiod. Work location and telework schedule can be flexible upon return to theworkplace as conditions permit
Once offices openback up, there could be (mostly) local travel required
HRCertifications a plus (CPTD, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
Experiencein a role supporting leadership at a mid- to large-size company is a plus
Experiencewith PeopleSoft HRIS a plus
Essential Job Functions
General Office environment.The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadlinepressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork andcooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across theCompany and Customers.
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
Equipment and Machines:
General office equipmentincluding PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and othermiscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at alltimes. Must be able to work a minimum 40-hour workweek, normally Monday throughFriday. However, times and days may vary depending on businessrequirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks andbe available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situationoccur.
Other Essential Functions:
Must be able to communicateeffectively both verbally and in writing
Grooming and dress must beappropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to theemployee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhancesproductivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
Mustbe able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization bothverbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinateand prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well underpressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed.Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehiclerecords check. Must be a US citizen.
