Jacobs Knowledge Management Manager in Herndon, Virginia
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Knowledge Management Manager for Growth, Strategy, and Transformation (GS&T) to support Divergent Solutions (DS) with managing and maintaining the knowledge base tools, processes, and systems. The Knowledge Manager will also work with sales stakeholders such as the Sales Center of Excellence, the DVP, Strategy and the DVP, Proposal Operations Group to ensure effective and efficient sharing of sales-related knowledge across the company. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations for GS&T.
Here’s what you will be doing:
Develop a program of work to address DS Knowledge Management priorities
Ensures knowledge management program of work is aligned to and supports the needs of DS and overall company strategy, as well as company knowledge management transformation objectives (i.e., Culture of Sharing, curiosity, learning)
Engage regularly with the Sales Center of Excellence and CMS Sales Enablement Team in established cross-Line of Business (LOB)/Business Unit (BU) forums to understand and support the global strategy and program for Knowledge Management – provide support and input of DS Sales requirements.
Engage with DS Sales Operations Team (Leadership, Capture Leads, Sales Operations & Creative Services) to understand their knowledge needs and priorities and communicate knowledge management resources and programs
Provides Knowledge Management training to new/existing DS sales stakeholders
Builds and maintains strong relationships with sales leadership, sales operations, capture leads, operation sales and wider business leadership teams
Leads in a non-hierarchical, inclusive, and diplomatic manner - promotes alternative views and challenges assumptions
Promotes a Culture of Sharing, working horizontally across Jacobs to share our DS capabilities, best practices, and experience
Has a sound understanding of and advocates for these strategies and works in a collaborative way with a diverse set of partners
Manages delivery of program or work through discrete projects, working with appropriate stakeholder groups to inform and assist delivery
Maintains the Knowledge Base for DS; organizes content and Jacobs’ information so that staff find it easy to create, store, manage and retrieve knowledge artefacts
Assists in the delivery of Jacobs’ content to DS sales stakeholders across Jacobs Engineering (all Lines of Business)
Provides CSP/Salesforce support to DS sales stakeholders (Operations/Capture/Proposal teams)
Provides Opportunity SharePoint assistance to DS sales stakeholders
Ensures clear and effective communication at all levels
Is an advocate for knowledge management across the business
Actively promotes Jacobs’ brand, values, and behaviors
Leads and participates in marketing activities, forums, networks internally and externally
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree; an additional four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with sales, proposal support, record retention and maintenance, and the opportunity lifecycle.
Experience and efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
Demonstrate sound understanding of knowledge management principles and practice.
Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to work with teams to interview and conduction research for capabilities gathering.
Proven written and oral communication abilities to provide cross-functional support and share capabilities across across Lines of Business (LoB) and company.
Demonstrable self-starter with a proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
Demonstrable understanding of the capture and proposal lifecycle.
Experience utilizing a Salesforce system and ability to run reports is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a rapidly-evolving environment.
Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
