Jacobs Sr. Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst in Herndon, Virginia

Your Impact:

Sr. Finance Analyst - FP&A and Corporate Projects will provide financial insights and business partnership to the Jacobs - Divergent Solutions/iCMS organization and tackle Accounting corporate projects that impact the entire organization. This high visibility finance role will provide reliable data and analysis to help with decision making and planning, as well as become a trusted business advisor to the leaders of our Finance organization. The ideal candidate is a quick learner and comfortable with ambiguity and working across teams. S/he possesses a keen attention to detail, has a passion for numbers, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The role entails interaction with Accounting leadership, Finance leadership, and requires a balance of strong verbal and written communication and partnership skills, and delivering results. The role is a mixture of owning the FP&A process for the organization and driving projects that impact the entire organization.

Responsibilities:

Providing FP&A finance support to the leaders of the Jacobs Divergent Solutions/iCMS teams related to demand planning, productivity, metrics, and reporting. Diving deep into the financial data and becoming a subject matter expert to provide additional insights. Partnering directly with the Finance Org's and central FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews. Identifying and understanding business challenges and proposing and creating solutions. Working on Corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization.

Specifically, the Sr. FP&A Analyst will assist/support the following tasks:

  • Track, report, research and forecast key metrics monthly such as revenue, profit, direct labor, indirect costs, billability, DSO, etc. within several ERP systems.

  • Support indirect rate management, through ad hoc analysis of indirect spend to actual variances.

  • Identify spend situations where indirect rates / plan are impacted and develop recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Develop quarterly reporting for business reviews, external earnings reporting, and other ad hoc deliverables.

  • Support ERP conversion and develop reporting using various systems and tools.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • 7-10 Years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis.

  • Experience serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership team through short term and long-term financial planning. processes, confronting and overcoming challenging situations, enabling growth, and driving process improvement.

  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), pertaining to indirect rate structures and allowability of cost.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and embraces change.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment.

  • Superior attention to detail and have the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast paced and rapidly-changing environment;

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic relationships with your business partners to deliver results;

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication;

  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Finance or a related field

  • Advanced Excel skills & business modeling skills
