Your Impact:

We are looking for a high energy, collaborative Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner to join our Mid-Atlantic Advanced Mobility (AM) group of about 50 transportation planners, traffic / ITS engineers and operations specialists with a wide variety of talent and experience. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on complex transportation projects to primarily include traffic operations along with travel demand forecasting, highway safety, urban intersections, interchanges, corridor, and traffic impact studies. You will work on challenging and exciting interstate planning and design projects, along with evaluating the impacts of these projects on urban arterial roadways.

The primary location of this position is our Herndon, Virginia office, with some flexibility to work from home. Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field

• At least 2 years’ experience with microsimulation modeling

• Direct knowledge and experience working with VISSIM, HCS, SYNCHRO, VISUM and/or other traffic operations software

• Experience interpreting model output to derive logical conclusions

• Familiarity with traffic operations practices and policies at local and national levels

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management and report writing skills

• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment and a desire to learn and gain experience

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

• Beginner-level application scripting and exposure to the basics of travel demand forecasting principles

• Experience working with clients

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field
