We are seeking a confident Expert Water Conveyance Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City UT. Someone who can use their vast knowledge of water pipelines, hydraulic structures, flow control valves, pump stations, and hydropower facilities and apply them to today’s challenges. As a seasoned professional, you will have the chance to mentor, learn, and work independently as a key team member.

This position will help provide and sustain clean water resources for our clients around the world and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As a Water Conveyance Engineer, you’ll have the chance to lead water development studies, system designs, construction support, and conveyance projects. Working with other members of our team, you’ll use your skills and experience in pipeline and valve selection globally. During your time with us, you will develop feasibility studies for new capital improvement projects, design pipeline systems and pump stations, evaluate potential for hydropower development, and develop specifications for construction of projects. You will also support business development by meeting with clients and supporting project proposals.

Our flexible work schedules offer you the opportunity to work both remotely and in a Jacobs office. You will have the option to work full-time or a modified full-time schedule (21-39 hours) based upon your needs and interest. We can explore the schedule that works best for a healthy work-life balance.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate engineering field

  • A variety of water conveyance and hydraulic engineering experience that can include large diameter pipelines, pump stations, hydropower facilities, hydraulic structures, storage reservoirs, and/or valve structures

  • Experience with hydraulic calculations and/or modeling

  • The ability to effectively communicate with teammates and clients

  • Experience designing water development and distribution projects as the Engineer of Record

  • Confidence in the Microsoft Suite and PDF editors (e.g. BlueBeam)

  • Professional Engineering License

Ideally, You’ll Have Experience including:

  • Master’s Degree in an appropriate engineering field

  • Provided services during construction for large water conveyance projects

  • Leading a design team as a project manager or design manager
