Jacobs is seeking motivated and experienced Project Architect , to join our growing team of multi-discipline professionals, delivering outstanding program management, planning, design, and construction management services to our clients in the NW and across the global. Our Project Architect leads the technical aspects of the architecture, and the organization of the building project deliverables consisting of multi-disciplines: Architecture, Interiors, Landscape Architecture, MEP, Structural, and Civil Engineering, and assorted Specialty Disciplines. The position reports directly to the Built Environment Market Director and requires a level of technical expertise related to the specific scope of the project. Furthermore, this position is internally facing and acts as the company’s main point of contact on design packages, working closely with our project management team and discipline leads.
Responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and agreed scope. Primary focus is organizing and leading design deliverables for design-bid-build projects (plans, specifications, and estimates), design-build documents, technical studies, feasibility reports and other design and engineering requirements for large and/or multiple corporate and public sector projects.
Provides effective, skilled project architecture services, to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to our clients and our business by applying proven building delivery processes and techniques.
Responsible for construction phase services as required by the scope of work. This typically includes coordinating Jacobs’ responses to RFIs, shop drawing reviews, construction modification documents and site assistance visits.
Coordinates the development of project documents by providing overall guidance and structure to the design team, coordination with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors, and project management team, in support of the project schedule to meet deliverable milestones and commitments.
Supports the overall quality of the project documents and adherence with Jacobs Quality Program. Enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of the delivery systems, and of the production activities in general.
Mentors and trains team members in project architecture methods, procedures and activities.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Professional Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master of Architecture)
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Architect in an Architectural or Engineering organization, with demonstrated project delivery experience within private and/or public sector markets.
8 years of overall experience in architecture.
Strong working knowledge of design phase delivery, model/rendering, design tools (including REVIT, ProjectWise), sustainable systems/components and technology, design team relationship building.
Professional Registered Architect (RA) – State of Washington preferred.
