We have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Specialist to join our team with JETS teammate company, Oceaneering Space Systems.

The Communication Specialist will:
Format, proofread, revise, and edit technical reports; papers for engineering/science conferences and publications; Management System procedures; presentations; brochures; displays; and other forms of communication for clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content
Ensure comprehensive documentation meets organizational standards
Edit project communications for a highly technical audience to public-facing documents that present technical information in an approachable, understandable way
From writing to revising for a unified voice, to editing for clarity and consistency, make complex content readable and relatable for various audiences
Perform other tasks assigned
Here’s What You’ll Need:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience -OR- Requires two (2) years of college with courses in business administration, industrial management, or appropriate discipline, and six (6) years progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience editing technical (non-IT) or industry-based documents in a professional environment
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
To be successful in this role, the selected candidate should be familiar with:
Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, and Excel)
Adobe publishing programs (specifically Acrobat; knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus)
Standard editing conventions, such as those in the current edition of the GPO Style Manual or the Associated Press Stylebook
Grammatical rules, clear and concise writing, and references and citations
Shared workspace platforms (MS SharePoint and Teams)
Experience with NASA and its terminology a plus
Excellent grammar skills
Attention to detail
Time management skills

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
