Jacobs is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in our Houston, TX office. We'll support you as you leverage your technical skills as part of a dynamic integrated building services design team. We provide the best professional services in power systems planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, vertical transportation and construction coordination. Tap into both your creative and analytical sides in this role as you plan and design electrical systems for commercial buildings and facilities, including airports, data centers, hospitals, laboratories, high rise offices, educational facilities and other commercial and institutional projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design full electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems

  • Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls

  • Prepare load analysis for different stages of design

  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed

  • Prepare basis of design report for the project

  • Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms

  • Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building

  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects

  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them

  • Monitor quality of work, and interface with clients

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or Bachelors' degree in Architectural Engineering (BSAE)

  • Demonstrable experience at an MEP firm designing full electrical systems

  • Proficiency in Revit, 3D AutoCAD or equivalent

Ideally You’ll Also Have:

  • LEED AP

  • Experience leading Electrical projects

  • Experience working on a variety of commercial buildings such as aviation terminals, convention centers, data centers, federal office buildings, high-rise office towers, and hospitality facilities

  • Experience designing full electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems
