We are look for a JSC Engineering Directorate Facilities Project Manager to join our team. Do you have the following skills?
Johnson Space Center's Engineering Directorate (EA) consists of a workforce of 1600+ on-site employees, more than 800,000 square feet of unique labs, test facilities and office space. The EA Directorate is entering a time of substantial facility activity required to make overall facility usage affordable. Facility repair-by-replacement, refurbishment, renewal, expansion, and divestment are strategies that will be used to meet Directorate, Center and Agency facility goals.
Provide oversight support for assigned projects including real-time presence and coordination during construction, renovation, repair, or equipment installation.
Coordinate access and scheduled work in Engineering facilities.
Guide and monitor project budgets and schedules.
Provide support for Architecture and Engineering Studies and Design Studies for Engineering facilities.
Develop relationships with JSC Center Operations Directorate organizations and various contractors involved in the construction, renovation, repair, or equipment installations in Engineering facilities.
Develop space allocation, modification, and temporary facility accommodation plans and proposals for Engineering facilities.
Address project problems in a timely and honest manner.
Define, communicate, and mitigate project and project risks.
Perform other tasks assigned.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position is advertised.
BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.
10+ years experience with managing projects of similar scope and complexity.
Experience and proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and other PM Tools.
Experience with facility planning design, construction, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of building codes, occupational and construction safety.
Government facilities experience.
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules and to work unsupervised for long periods.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
