We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Work Control Coordinator to join our team with the Facilities and Testing Division.

The Manufacturing Work Control Coordinator will:

  • Serve as primary customer interface for checking on and picking up their work from the manufacturing shop area.

  • Develop and maintain rolling wave projection for shop capacity.

  • Define job level work queue and job level priorities.

  • Develop and manage overall shop production / capacity schedule (throughput).

  • Communicate status of individual jobs to the job-level customer once approved for production.

  • Primary planner/scheduler for all incoming work.

  • Tracks all incoming work and ROM requests.

  • Coordinates with the Production Control Coordinator daily regarding personnel and machines in use.

  • Identify/verify materials needed for tasking are in stock or will be provided by the customer.

  • Create routers/paperwork for job tasking.

  • Contacts customers when job is complete.

  • Draft and update work order status for shop needs.

  • Assist Production Control Coordinator with daily job status update requirements.

  • Ensure project, scope, and project cost summaries (manufacturing hours and projected costs) are current for Business Operations Manager and Shop Supervisor.

  • Process purchase requests for materials, hardware, and outside services.

  • Identify and communicate conflicting schedule requirements to Manufacturing Operations Lead, Business Manager, and Shop Supervisor as soon as possible when an issue as noted.

  • Participate in Manufacturing Job Status meetings.

  • Update Work Orders and ready final Work Package and drawings for release to Shop Floor.

  • Assist the kitting of hardware/parts for assembly as required on Work Orders, TPS's, DR's.

  • Locate, verify, and issue raw materials per drawing and work order requirements.

  • Ship completed jobs to customer/forward to next assembly as required.

  • Maintain Controlled Storage (incoming/outgoing items).

  • Track status of items being fabricated/outsourced/procured.

  • Update router packages with new redline/released drawings.

  • Assist with movement of parts to/from facilities on-site (paperwork, scheduling, physical transport needs).

  • Work with Manufacturing team to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are maintained (internally and with outside vendors).

  • Perform other duties as required. ​

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Requisition Qualifications:

  • ​​BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus nine (9) years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.

  • Position requires specialized and extensive knowledge of engineering principles gained through long and varied work experience in field of specialty.

  • Excellent verbal communication and written presentation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Effectively organize, manage, and prioritize responsibilities for multiple projects with overlapping schedule demands.​

  • Prior scheduling and planning experience.

  • Previous management or leadership experience desired.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis in CNC, lathes, mills, and sheet metal fabrication.

  • Strong computer skills and experience in utilizing software tools such as Smartsheet, Visio, Microsoft Word and Excel, Office, Outlook, and Project.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).


Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
