We have the unique role to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of every human spaceflight program – the International Space Station (ISS), NASA's Orion spacecraft, which will transport astronauts into deep space, the orbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back and forth to the moon's surface, and serving as the platform for deep space exploration. From systems on the ISS to help astronauts live and work in space; to performing advanced development for systems supporting deep space exploration; to being part of the foundation for Gateway.
We also partner with NASA at JSC, the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samples returned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbital debris analysis, and basic research to further humankind's understanding of the origins of our solar system.
We are looking for a MS Project Scheduler - Lunar Terrain Vehicle to join our team with MTS , a JETS Teammate company.
This part-time role is 100% remote telework.
The selected candidate will:
Develop and maintain the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) schedule throughout different phases of the project lifecycle at NASA/JSC.
Work alongside the project manager, project team, and technical experts during planning, creating and managing schedules for NASA/JSC flight hardware/software development and implementation.
Perform ongoing schedule analyses, critical path analyses, resource analyses, risk analyses, and reporting.
Evaluate and recommend schedule improvement opportunities.
Support the project team to provide clear visibility on the status and schedule of the project to internal and external customers.
Generate reports from Microsoft Project, including critical path, to communicate any risk areas to ensure on-time delivery of products.
Track schedule baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans.
Track project risks and maintain mitigation plans.
Manage time and keep track of tasks effectively.
Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.
Perform other tasks assigned.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS degree from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of direct experience, or a MS degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of direct experience, or Ph.D. and four (4) years of direct experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
Excellent written presentation skills.
Strong skills in one or more project scheduling tools such as MS Project.
Strong computer skills and experience using software tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Office, and Outlook.
Able to make independent, technical and tactical decisions with a high attentiveness to details.
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules and to work unsupervised for long periods of time.
Background in flight hardware development, testing, and certification projects and scheduling.
Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
