We have the unique and significantrole to partner with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of everyhuman spaceflight program – the International Space Station (ISS), NASA’s Orionspacecraft, which will carry astronauts into deep space, and Gateway, theorbiting platform providing the home for astronauts to work and travel back andforth to the moon’s surface, and serving as the platform for deep spaceexploration. From critical systems onthe ISS to enable astronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanceddevelopment for systems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of thefoundation for Gateway.
We also partner with NASA at JSC,the only NASA center in the United States to curate all astromaterial samplesreturned from exploration missions, to perform curation services, orbitaldebris analysis, and basic research to further humankind’s understanding of theorigins of our solar system.

We are currently in need of a Network System Administrator/Analyst tojoin our team. Do you have the following skills?
As aNetwork System Administrator/Analyst in the Electrical Data and ControlsSection of the Facility and Test Department you will:
Maintainand administer computer networks and related computing environments, includingcomputer hardware, systems software, applications software and allconfigurations as they relate to application management systems.
Provideoperations and maintenance support of network management applications thatsupport an Enterprise network, as well as operations and maintenance support toNetwork Management Systems.
Performtechnical evaluations, analysis, and trouble-shooting for all supported servers.
Proactivelyidentifies risks in the network and assists in the development of a plan tomitigate.
Performsetup and installation and/or upgrade services of hardware and software components.
Configurenetwork systems hardware and software for maximum reliability informationassurance, and system security.
Execute system security functional evaluationsand testing.
Conduct diagnostics to investigate and resolveproblems, providing technical assistance and support with server malfunctions.
Follow all customer network security processesand procedures, and ensure compliance with all Government policies.
Execute reporting functions and data inputassociated with network management.
Maintain technical competency in computersystems, network technology and operating systems.
Perform other duties as assigned by ElectricalData and Controls Section Manager.
Typically has a BS degree in a computer or systemscience discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) yearsof progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or systemscience and four (4) years of progressive experience, or Ph.D. degree in acomputer of system science discipline.
Demonstrated experience as a SystemAdministrator or similar role.
Demonstrated hands-on experience installing,configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network management applicationservices and equipment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with serverupgrades, patch management, and server transitioning.
Familiarity with various operating systems andplatforms (i.e. Windows, Linux).
Must be capable of multi-tasking and positivelyinteracting with disparate types of individuals on a daily basis.
Must be able to work independently whenrequired as well as work closely with other personnel.
Strong communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC)organizations, processes, and procedures.
Windows Server Update Services
Symantec Endpoint Protection
SQL Server database administration
Experience with developing and supporting VBapplications (VBA and MS-Access).
Experience with Microsoft Office, includingAccess.

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peakperiods and surge requirements when required.
