We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Software Lab Operations to join our team with JETS II teammate company, Intuitive Machines.
The Project Engineer - Software Lab Operations will:
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers and be customer-focused
Operate and maintain lab environment hardware and software in various labs around Johnson Space Center
Perform Linux/Unix system administration, communication, user authentication and storage design,
development and maintenance
Perform rapid troubleshooting in resolving lab and computer system issues
Create and maintain documentation of lab resources and lab management practices
Identify and cross-pollinate best practices and lessons learned across labs
Coordinate vacation plans and fill in as needed
Active participation in quarterly Lab Ops Team meetings
Conduct a weekly tag-up with management to report status
Update and present documentation to management for each lab
Provide surge support as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Requisition Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
Ability to get highest level of confidence for System Administration
Linux/Unix system administration, communication, user authentication and storage design,
development and maintenance
Network analysis, configuration and administration
Firewall maintenance and administration
Automation of system maintenance and reporting via scripting
Demonstrate ability to document configurations, resources and maintain burndown lists
Demonstrate problem-solving background with accompanying troubleshooting skills
Demonstrate effective communication with customers and other team members, both written and orally
Able to quickly adapt to new situations and a willingness to learn new technologies
Able to work independently as well as collectively within a team
Must be willing to work onsite at Johnson Space Center
Requisition Preferences:
TCP/IP Network analysis, configuration and administration experience
ARINC 664 Rate Constrained or SAE AS6802 Time Triggered Ethernet Experience
System and software configuration management
Server maintenance and backup
System requirements analysis
JSC network familiarity
Hardware and software integration
System and software configuration management
System tuning and performance analysis
System requirements analysis

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
