We are looking for a Risk Manager - Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) to join our team with Barrios Technology, Inc. , a JETS teammate company. Do you have the following skills?

The Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Risk Manager will:

  • Develop and maintain a Risk Management Plan for the LTV project.

  • Lead the LTV Risk Working Group (RWG).

  • Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and help them plan risk responses.

  • Develop and maintain a risk register that includes the risk statement, risk scoring, mitigations, and other relevant information.

  • Track risks and updates them regularly.

  • Close risks when appropriate and maintain an archive of closed risks.

  • Work with other team members to assist them in developing and maintaining lower-level risk management processes tailored to their areas.

  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure their risks are updated in a timely fashion.

  • Provide training to team members on how to conduct risk management.

  • Mentor team members and help them develop and use good risk management practices.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of the team's risks with project leadership.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience, or an MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated success with the technical risk management aspect of project management.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering practices and principles.

  • Background in-flight hardware development, testing, and certification.

  • Familiarity with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
