Sr. Electrical Engineer

Researches, develops, designs, and tests a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes.
Responsible for the progress and quality of work of a group of engineers and designers.
Responsible for serving as a lead discipline engineer on large projects, where he/she supervises and directs all Electrical engineering and design on the task force with responsibility for independently applying sound and diversified knowledge of discipline principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
Conducts performance appraisals and sometimes assumes manager's duties during manager's absence.
Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer
May direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations
May use computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation and equipment to perform engineering tasks
Has comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application.
Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline.
Develops designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work performed with minimal supervision
Work performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
May provide some technical guidance to less experienced design and engineering personnel.
7 years of experience required
BS or MS in an engineering discipline is required
PE registration in Wisconsin is preferred, but not required
Must have AutoCAD experience and be able to do some drafting
Experience as a lead on major $400M or larger E&C projects in the refinery and petro-chemical industry is required
Experience in leading projects that have included multiple process units or multiple major areas, involving supervision of 15 or more support electrical engineers and designers is required
Must be able to work 50 hrs/week
Some travel will be required, no more than once per month
Excellent oral and written communication skills is required
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
