Jacobs Sr. Project Manager - MEP Healthcare Buildings in Houston, Texas

We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Senior Project Manager, MEP - Healthcare Buildings, who thrives when people are in sync and projects run on time and within budget. This unique opportunity is based at a client site in Houston, reporting directly to the Program Manager and client. You’ll be responsible not only for the overall project delivery but also for the management of the project through completion, following program objectives.  You'll manage and provide construction oversight and resolve complex construction project-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.

As the on-site Owner's Representative, your role is pivotal in ensuring the progress and technical performance of a project. You'll also be responsible for the crucial aspects of schedule, cost, scope, and safety of the team, underscoring your integral role in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track outages in a sensitive healthcare environment to prevent schedule delays

  • Drawing and specification review

  • Perform periodic site walks to review construction progress

  • Perform periodic and pre-inspection walk-throughs for quality assurance

  • Resolve MEP inspection issues

  • Review submittals as needed

  • Review and comment on RFIs as needed

  • Review TAB daily reports and TAB final reports

  • Support Project Managers by addressing MEP issues and outages

  • Timely and proactive communications with the project team, end users, and business partners

  • Guide and manage the project team to yield productive actions through conflict management and use of good written and verbal communication

  • Leads change management on project

  • Review and approve consultant and contractor pay applications and change orders

  • Attend the Owner, Architect, and Contractor weekly meetings to address MEP and outage issues

  • Responsible for maintaining Jacobs’ relationship with the client

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction or related discipline

  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager in an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization

  • Proven Healthcare building construction experience

  • Strong working knowledge of building systems/components and technology, Building Automation Systems, building mechanical and electrical systems, project delivery methods, team building, schedule adherence, and client relationship building

Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

  • Professional Engineer license
