We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - HLS Habitation to join our team with JETS II Teammate Company, Intuitive Machines.
The Habitation Systems Engineer , as part of the HLS systems management team will:
Perform, review, and present architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall design and performance.
Perform requirements decomposition and develop requirements for Level 3 (Human Lander System, HLS).
Develop verification and validation plans and statements.
Develop interface control documents.
Review and provide comments on HLS program documentation.
Develop IVA Lunar dust mitigation strategies and concepts.
Support HLS microgravity trade studies on crew equipment, such as toilet, advanced clothing, etc.
Coordinate with the Gateway Crew Systems system management team.
Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
May support various Advanced Exploration System (AES) Logistics Reduction (LR) projects.
Perform other duties as required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
Typically requires a HS diploma and 15 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field and 10 years of experience.
Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.
Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space systems including Habitation.
Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of software and tools.
Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
Experience with spacecraft habitation systems.
Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
