Position Summary:

Jacobs is looking for a talented, motivated TaskManager/Project Manager to support our practice in the South Central Geography(Texas and Oklahoma). This position would engage with Jacobs’ Global Technologynetwork focusing on dams/levees, food walls, and other coastal flood protectionprojects. The role will require the following:

  • Provide overall leadership on multiple projects within and beyond the South Central Geography

  • Manage medium to large projects and tasks

  • Support Program or other Project Managers in planning to deliver the work

  • Coordinate with and lead design resources in the Americas, as well as Global Design Centers, to complete quality designs within budget and schedule

  • Develop and prepare level of effort estimates for all components of projects and tasks

  • Develop and write specific scopes of work for sub-consultants consistent with the level of effort estimates

  • Manage Sub-consultants’ delivery of assigned scope of work, monitor progress, and monitor invoicing

  • Oversee the development of task schedules

  • Manage task budgets and update estimates-to-complete

  • Work closely with the program controls managers to track the financial status and percent complete for the project

  • Interface with client technical staff, communicate effectively, identify issues proactively, and build trust

  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior and peer staff

  • Oversee the preparation of drawings, technical specifications, and reports

  • Oversee the development and use of various models supporting and guiding designs

  • Lead QA/QC process prior to deliverable submission

  • Adhere to all program contractual and applicable FAR clauses

  • Prepare and review technical reports

  • Occasional travel required

  • Relocation to Houston area preferred

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering and commensurate demonstrated experience is required

  • MS and/or PhD in Civil Engineering, Hydrology and Hydraulics, Ocean Engineering, or related degree is preferred

  • Registration as a professional engineer in the United States is required

  • Ability to register as a professional engineer in the state of Texas within 1 year is required

  • Experience with and understanding of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its processes and requirements are required

  • Experience with the Galveston Corps of Engineers is preferred

  • 15 years of professional experience is required

  • Successful track record managing multiple complex projects with total installed cost of over $40 million and/or revenue in excess of $4 million are required

  • Excellent analytical skills are required

  • Strong technical report writing skills are required

  • Ability to travel occasionally is required
