We have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Transfer Engineering Technologist to join our team with the Science and Exploration Department.

  • The Exploration Technology Office (ETO) exists to enable human space exploration through technology development, technology transfer and partnership formulation “for the benefit of all humankind."

  • As NASA embarks on its next era of exploration, the Exploration Technology Office is focused on advancing technologies and partnerships to develop new capabilities to support the NASA and Johnson Space Center missions, and we are looking for a team member to help us make this happen.

  • The Engineering Technologist will work with our Technology Transfer team to identify technology transfer and partnership opportunities.

  • As part of the technology transfer team, you will collaborate to determine what NASA technologies may benefit current or future terrestrial or commercial space markets.

  • Other regular duties may include communications content development in support of ETO objectives.

  • Identify new technologies and provide assessments with the goal of identifying market potential. Multimedia marketing campaigns for JSC patented technologies will be developed.

  • As member of the Exploration Technology Office you will collaborate with others across all three branches in the division, including technology development, technology transfer, and partnerships.

  • Perform other tasks assigned.

  • BS degree from an accredited college or university.​

  • Ability to communicate with business specialists and engineers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Exemplary organizational skills and careful attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with MS Office.

Requisition Preferences:

  • Candidate must have a BS degree from an accredited college or university in Business or a related discipline.

  • Experience working with new and patented technologies.

  • Experience or coursework working in a Technology Transfer Office.

  • Experience or coursework in data management.

  • Previous intern experience is a plus.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
