Thermal Analysis Engineer
NASA’s Mission Operations for the International Space Station is located at Johnson Space Center. On Jacobs’ JETS contract we provide engineering services to JSC. Come join us and be a vital part of operating the largest space station ever built. We’re looking for a Thermal Analysis Engineer.
The Thermal Analysis Engineer will:
Support the thermal analysis group.
Simulate and evaluate performance of active and passive thermal control systems for future NASA vehicles and habitats including the Orion spacecraft and vehicles capable of lunar or Mars missions.
Correlate thermal models to test results.
Develop thermal models of space hardware or test equipment using Thermal Desktop analysis code and first principal models with standard desktop software.
Perform other duties as assigned.
BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited engineering school.
Knowledge of programming in one or more of the following: FORTRAN, C, Visual Basic.
Good technical writing skills and the ability to use data to draw conclusions and support the conclusions when challenged.
Strong presentation skills.
Demonstrate good communication skills in a team environment.
- Experience with developing thermal simulation models of spacecraft hardware and systems at varying levels of fidelity ranging from detailed, first-principle models to more descriptive lumped-parameter models.
