The Jacobs Software Engineering Center (JSEC) is the company's premier custom software development organization. Our software applications are in use around the world and are critical systems in aeronautical navigation, airdrop planning, and aircraft mission planning & execution. With the latest development methodologies and tool sets, JSEC engineers have a broad range of responsibilities. We develop the software requirements, design the architecture, write the code, integrate and test the code, manage the software configuration, and upgrade the applications.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager 4 to support the JSEC program in Hudson, NH.

Job Description

To provide Software Quality Assurance support services within the scope of Software Development Programs within an Agile engineering environment and guided by the CMMi for Development reference model.

Typical Duties

Work scope may include any/all of the following duties:

  • Creates, Maintains, and Manages the Organizational Quality Plan.

  • Implements Quality Engineering activities outlined in the Quality Plan.

  • Responsible for activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.

  • Provides guidance to all program/project personnel in regard to quality activities.

  • Confirms all processes and products have been properly developed under the guidelines and standards OSSP via Peer Reviews, Audits, and/or Appraisals.

  • Monitors all program/project processes for compliance with quality standards within the OSSP and Quality Assurance Plans.

  • Performs periodic specialty audits of Configuration Management work products as well as audits targeting proper artifact creation and maintenance.

  • Identifies Noncompliance Issues and works with managers and leads to resolve as well as the EPG to monitor the Corrective Actions to completion and resolution.

  • Ensures program and organizational quality measures are collected, monitored, and utilized to improve Quality.

  • Collects, documents, and reports Lessons Learned, Best Practices, and Process Improvement Activities.

  • Reviews status reports comparing planned versus actual activities.

  • Provides regular Quality status to management.

  • Performs an annual review of the program/project Quality Plan.

  • Ensures all program personnel has been trained in the processes executed in the Quality Plan.

  • Completion of employee performance appraisals and employee counselings, if assigned the responsibilities of employee supervision.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma and at least an additional fourteen (14) years of relevant experience, or

  • Associates degree and at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience, or

  • Bachelor's degree and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience coupled with general experience

  • Training and or certifications may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of software process development, maintenance, and improvements.

  • Understand and communicate Product and Process Quality assessment findings and negotiate remedies.

  • Experience with Process Auditing and Quality Metrics.

  • Working knowledge of software development processes (SAFe Agile preferred, but not required).

  • Ability to interact with engineers and managers.

  • Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), ISO 9000, and other standard models.

Required Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Defense-oriented software experience is a plus.

U.S. Citizenship Required. The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Work is Light. Exposed to computer monitors, constant wrist movement.

Work Environment:

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Cubical environment in a confined/restricted work area.

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Attendance:

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Must be able to work within the shift hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

May be required to work outside of normal shift hours when required for mission support.

Must be flexible to support the customer.

Other Essential Functions:

Must be able to secure and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
