Business Analyst II
A Business Analyst (BA) performs detailed analyses of business process and provides an interface between traditional information technology support organizations and functional requirement definitions. A BA must have a wide range of knowledge in all areas of information technology and in the customer business area. A BA must have organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills; possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment; interact at all levels in the chain of command; work independently with minimal supervision; work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment; possess the ability to work well under pressure and around tight deadlines. Generally, a BA will be intimately familiar with a business process and partner closely with a customer lead and the user community. A BA will lead some smaller analysis efforts and take direction from more senior level team members.
Maintain skill sets in the hardware/software being used to accomplish customer tasks;
Maintain an awareness of trends that may either positively or negatively affect the customer;
Exhibit a wide range of technical knowledge including database, application development, project management, scheduling, etc;
Apply standard principles and concepts to solve issues in the government customer’s Web Portal with limited assistance from senior project team members;
Develop, control, coordinate, and maintain assigned Web Portal projects from inception to deployment into the government customer’s development environment and through the other customer-specific environments;
Apply standard practices and techniques in assigned Web Portal projects as described by senior project team members with limited feedback and additional clarification on provided guidance;
Understand database structure required to support the Web Portal and its display of InfoSphere processing results;
Compile the government customer’s Web Portal standards documentation for use by all team members
Create design specifications for the government customer’s Web Portal implementation based on interpretation of user requirements with limited assistance of senior project team members;
Interact professionally with internal and external government customers and team members on a regular basis;
Adhere to all established policies with regard to security, completion of mandatory training courses and timesheet submission;
BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related scientific or engineering discipline and five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certifications.
Ability to efficiently balance simultaneous, high profile projects and deliver those projects in an effective manner is required;
Must have experience supporting Data/Information Management and Quality projects.
Security certification required to fulfill duties of position;
Experience with VB .NET required;
Must understand U.S. Army Logistics practices, policies, regulations and procedures;
Must be proficient with Oracle RDBMS, SQL and Quest TOAD software;
Use of the MS Office Suite of products;
Exposure to and use of the Telerik tool suite for VB .NET is a plus; Experience with the design of large Oracle database systems, PL/SQL, Packages and Stored Procedures is desired;
Creation and implementation of test plans for large scale web-based applications;
