Jacobs ETL Engineer III- Secret in Huntsville, Alabama

Your Impact:

Jacobs is searching for an ETL Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. You will be working in Department of Justice organization that’s mission is to accelerate operations through data and new analytical insights. The entire section works to provide the entire enterprise with tools and applications to assist with operational data discovery, data exploitation, data analytics, and data visualization tools. The section works closely with the entire enterprise to ensure its applications and tools meet or exceed the needs of the mission.

The ETL Engineer Level III will be part of a team processing and ingesting data on mission-critical applications. The engineer will be developing multi-threaded Java code to assist in data processing. Additionally, the engineer will utilize Python to extract, analyze, and deduplicate data being processed in multiple pipelines. In addition to new development, the ETL Engineer will assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving the 60 data pipelines that are already in production.

This is an exciting opportunity for cleared talent with a Secret clearance to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Estimated time to complete the clearance sponsorship process is approximately 12-15 months. Once the Top Secret clearance is fully adjudicated and a position is available, the candidate will be eligible to work on the program.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing, sustaining, and improving the current system data ingest functions and making adjustments, as needed, by performing analysis, monitoring, and configuring the solution; creating or updating detailed design information; accessing and reviewing the code repository, administering code reviews, adjusting unit testing, maintaining build support, including continuous integration, sustain operational support activities and respond to mission-critical requests; working with application development tools, standards, and languages.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • At least 6 years experience with ETL.

  • Database ETL engineers should have experience with Oracle 11g/12c, Sun Solaris OS, Linux (CentOS, Red Hat), and Windows environments.

  • Software/scripting engineers should have experience performing software and scripting engineering for data ingest with Java or Python for ETL.

  • Experience with web services and/or microservices.

  • Experience with ETL tools such as NiFi or Informatica

  • Experience using software repository tools such as GIT or SVN

  • At least 6 years experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle 11g and 12c, Informatica, XML, XSLT, Java, web services, SVN, RCS, Git, OLS Security, JIRA, Oracle 11g/12c, Sun Solaris OS, Linux (CentOS, Red Hat), and Windows.Java development with multi-threading experience

  • Python development with big data extraction, analysis, and deduplication experience

  • Troubleshooting to develop new data pipelines and keep 60 data pipelines up and running

  • Excellent communication to work with end users on custom request data pull

Preferred:

  • Ability to ingest processed data into Splunk for Dashboard display

  • Experience working in an agile development environment

  • Experience utilizing Jira and Confluence
