Description

The Jacobs Space Exploration Group (JSEG) offers a partnership in which you can grow personally and professionally within a framework of strong leadership, competitive compensation, and rewarding career paths. Come join our team on the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract whose work is destined to have a long-range effect on future generations!

The ESSCA contract provides engineering, scientific, and technical support to NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL. Our Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team executes challenging tasks to design and integrate GN&C systems for projects ranging from CubeSats to NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS).

Working independently and in an integrated, collaborative team, your responsibilities would include:

  • Develop vehicle, subsystem, and environment models for high-fidelity simulation of launch vehicles and spacecraft.

  • Perform 3-DOF and 6-DOF analyses and trade studies in support of launch vehicles and spacecraft.

  • Develop equations, algorithms, and software tools suitable for GN&C system analysis and design.

  • Support failure modeling and aborts analysis for launch vehicles through the development of abort triggers, actuator failure models, booster malfunction models, and vehicle demise criteria.

  • Participate in task team reviews for vehicle and system specifications. Participate and contribute to requirement reviews at the program, system, component, and test levels.
