Be a part of one of the hottest industries out there, SPACE EXPLORATION, and in a high demand position as an Industry 4.0 Engineer , also known as Digital Transformation Engineer.

Industry 4.0 Engineers incorporate the engineering aspect along with operational support responsibilities for the development and support of Digital Transformation technologies. This role will be responsible for spearheading initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, integrate digital technologies, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This is a job for a person that is excited to be hands-on and work with new technologies and able to quickly learn new concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering the Digital Transformation to help reduce the barriers to change and allows the areas to analyze their processes and creating a systematic approach to continuous improvement.

  • Support process change implementation by evaluating against business requirements and completing necessary system updates and supporting documentation updates. Overhaul the current "paper" based approach to quoting, work orders, and process planning, implementing modern digital solutions for improved efficiency and accuracy.

  • Drive efficiency and quality improvements using Possess in-depth knowledge and experience with various manufacturing processes, process planning, and manufacturing software.

  • Assist with architecting and implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) modules and system integration solutions accordance to the company’s digital transformation strategy by developing integrated solutions that address the bigger picture, ensuring that all components of the digital transformation align and work together cohesively.

  • Oversee the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) lifecycle, understanding how models flow from design to analysis to manufacturing, and champion the benefits of Model Based Engineering.

  • Explore and identify opportunities for leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in manufacturing processes, driving breakthrough advancements in efficiency and quality.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Educational requirements are the equivalent of a Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is from an ABET accredited university (preferred) with at least 8 years of experience, or a Bachelors with at least 10 years of experience

  • 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on digital transformation and solution is required.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes, process planning, and manufacturing software.

  • Experience with MES evaluation and implementation.

  • Proficiency in AI/ML concepts and their application in manufacturing.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and innovation within the organization.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:

General office environment (100%). Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Requires travel in the domestic USA (<15%).

Physical Requirements:

Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues (10%). Also, requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks (80%). Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and our facilities (10%).

Equipment and Machines:

Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment (100%).

Attendance:

Regular attendance is a necessity to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job. Regular attendance is a necessity and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required.

Other Essential Functions:

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100%). Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
