Jacobs Digital Design Lead - Senior CADD Designer (Water) in Irvine, California

We’re seeking a Digital Design Lead based out of Irvine, CA to join our team. Each day you will work with a team of designers and engineers to create drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Using your experience, you’ll work with civil engineers and project managers to provide top client service.

As a Digital Design Lead, you'll perform design/drafting assignments, requiring advanced working knowledge of design standards, practices and techniques using AutoCAD Civil 3D and of MicroStation while working collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the setup of projects on data sources and manage user access

  • Provide software support for project teams and coordinate issues with IT when needed.

  • Act as a liaison with IT and project staff to ensure functional and efficient hardware and software configuration for design staff.

  • Provide CADD Leadership and production support for project teams, including Project Execution Plan documentation, project kick-off meetings, file exports and client deliverable coordination.

This is a full-time non-exempt position and paid hourly.

  • Technical certification or Associate degree

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Microstation (InRoads or OpenRoads), AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit

  • Advanced experience with ProjectWise and Navisworks (BIM 360 and Sharepoint a plus)

  • Have knowledge and experience with civil design projects including topographic surveys, DTMs, grading, and utility layouts.

  • Proficiency with general office software (Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) and visualization software.

  • Ability to work independently, work and coordinated with various disciplines, and to manage multiple tasks and projects under constant deadlines, as well as anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner.

Ideally, you’ll also have:  

  • Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, IPD and other modern contractual delivery methods.

  • Understands project workflows from design, estimation, fabrication, construction documentation, administration, and coordination.

  • Autodesk Certified Professional or CM-BIM Certified.
