As an Electrical Engineer for our team, you will prepare detailed electrical detailed electrical power systems design for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump station rehabilitation, and greenfield projects with minimum supervision. You will work with project managers, design staff including electrical engineers, cost estimators, designers, drafters, and other engineering disciplines to provide quality work on schedule and within budget. We partner across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. You will engage with these teams to deliver solutions to our clients.

We'll Expect You To:

  • Design electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities

  • Preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects

  • Electrical systems include low- and medium-voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, UPS, and batteries.

  • Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering and design concepts, principles, best practices, codes, and guidelines related to electrical engineering industry.

  • Engage several different assignments simultaneously.

  • Develop basis of design report, One-Line Diagrams, Motor Control Diagrams, Panel Schedules, Conduit Routing, Load Calculations, and Voltage Drop Calculations as well coordinate with the Electric Utility Company for new services as needed.

  • Utilize lighting software to perform calculations and provide photometrics.

  • Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash and competent in equipment sizing, grounding, and relay coordination.

  • Engage in quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in the water market.

  • Perform field visits and conduct site investigations for public and private clients.

  • Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor’s request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings.

  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations.

  • Mentor junior staff

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Registered California professional electrical engineer with ability to reciprocate as needed

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience related to water industry in electrical engineering role

  • Experience in designing and delivering municipal water and wastewater treatment projects via different delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, or other alternatives) a plus

  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Working knowledge of AGi32 or Visual Lighting Software

  • Working knowledge of SKM or ETAP

  • Strong time management skills

  • Experience working with Permitting review agencies

  • Strong understanding of NEC and NFPA 820

  • Familiarity with IEEE color book series

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, problem solving and organizational skills

  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment

  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering a plus

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation

  • Knowledge of Revit MEP

  • Knowledge of Title 24 compliance for electrical distribution and lighting

  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu

  • Field investigative and startup experience

The base salary range for this position is $107,800 - $168,400. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
