At Jacobs our Senior Electrical Buildings Engineer have exceptional design and analysis skills, to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including airports, Data Centers, hospitals, laboratories, high rise offices, educational facilities and other commercial and institutional projects
Our design office in Irvine, CA provides consulting electrical engineering services related to vertical building construction in coordination with in-house architects, structural engineers, and the MEP disciplines.
Project types include: military bases, mission critical, commercial, and Federal/State/County facilities.
Candidates must be able to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to prepare construction drawings and specifications for submission to jurisdictional plan check and permitting.
Engineered systems include, but are not limited to, low-voltage power distribution, lighting systems and controls, branch circuiting, and fire alarms systems.
Knowledge of security and IT systems is desirable.
Minimum 10-15 years of facility-related electrical design experience required
BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering required
PE is required
Experience including the implementation of engineered designs for the production of contract documents for Federal, Military, and Private Sector clients is required
Proficiency with electrical calculations, including short circuit, day-lighting, Title 24, and coordination studies, required
Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills required
Proficiency with Autocad and/or Revit software preferred
