Position Summary:

On a high-level, you will be joining us to develop life-changing and, in many cases, life-saving process solutions for our clients. This includes but is not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing process flow diagrams to define heat and material balance.

  • Establishing a process design basis, developing process options and optimization of selected design.

  • Designing and creating Process& Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Preparing bid and purchase specifications for processing equipment (e.g. chromatography columns, pressure vessels, bioreactors, filtration skids).

  • Calculating loads for Clean Utilities, line sizing, and distribution design (e.g. water for injection, clean steam, process gases).

  • Participating in planning, cost development, and scheduling for assigned project.

  • Maintaining effective communication with project team members and with the customer.

  • Calculating and organizing data for other Jacobs disciplines, such as instrument data for I&C or electrical loadings.

  • Performing routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under supervision.

  • Work is reviewed for adequacy and accuracy by a Senior Engineer.


  • Candidates should be self-motivated professionals in their junior year or higher in college and pursuing an applicable engineering major from an accredited university

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, decision making capabilities, problem resolution skills, and a sense of initiative are important for this industry

  • Microsoft Office experience required; AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus

  • 2-5 years of experience required

  • BS or MS in chemical/mechanical/bio- engineering required
