Your Impact:

Jacobs is looking for a competent experienced Tunnels Lead Engineer based in Neom, KSA, to lead the services of an Independent Checking

Engineer (ICE) for the major tunnels. The project consists of the backbone infrastructure of approximately 140km in length, including significant

portions through high mountain regions. It linearly links several NEOM Cities and consists of High-Speed Rail, Freight Rail, Metro and Utility

Facilities. The Tunnels Leads Engineer will act as local Liaison Engineer for Tunnels. The role may include supervision of principal and senior

engineers.

The primary responsibilities will include the management of the review process and liaison with the client and the designers engaged locally in line

with the project baseline schedule. His tasks will be focussed on change management and engagement in critical close out tasks and meetings and

acting as primary contact point for the client. In addition, the Tunnels Lead Engineer will prepare task orders and assist PM to get them approved

from Client. The Tunnel Lead Engineer should be a generalist and will need to liaise and manage interfaces with support disciplines such as geology,

Fire Life Safety and MEP.

Specific duties include:

§ Complete the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that Client’s HS&E, quality, financial, risk management; business and policy expectations are met.

§ Support Client and PMC to integrate ICE services through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to the meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract.

§ Provide technical leadership

§ Provide specialist engineering advice and recommendations for construction methods

§ Completion of design reviews within the design review period

§ Overall technical responsibility for the design review

§ Preparation of Review Progress Reports (monthly)

§ Ensure Interdisciplinary coordination

§ Lead the Principal and Senior Engineers.

§ Ensuring quality/completeness of design review comments

§ Ensuring consistency of design reviews with Overall Deliverable Review Process

§ May play a role in the business development activities which could include include client relationship development, project- specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, orals presentation, and contract negotiation consistent with established business development processes.

§ Accomplish construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

· Minimum years of experience 15 years

· BSc in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree preferred

· Chartered Civil Engineer preferred

· Key Expectations: Detailed understanding of technical issues (including scope, disciplines involved, key risks/issues), recognised/respected as go to person for technical issues, confident with effective communication skills, leads by example, manages delivery of ICE services, ability to work to challenging schedule, managing scope and schedule changes and ability to handle conflicting demands and pressure situations effectively.

· General Requirements:

§ Experience in leading major multidisciplinary projects

§ Working experience with leading Engineering firms

§ Good client management and commercial acumen

§ Good interpersonal skills in resolving disagreements/conflict on technical issues

§ Identifying key technical issues, risks and challenges. Develop mitigation strategy for the key risks.

§ Good knowledge of technical issues associated with tunnels including geology, construction methods, FLS and ME
