Jacobs Piping Engineer in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Currently we are looking for an Industrial Piping Engineerfor our Kalamazoo, MI location.
The Kalamazoo office handles multiple small to midsizeprojects and the candidate must be able to perform in varied roles; as a disciplinelead, as a checker and in some cases in a support role. The role may require responsibility forcollaboration with other offices, field data gathering, the arrangement andlayout of equipment and the design of the interconnecting piping systems. Theposition includes responsibility for the following types of activities.
Discipline lead role on projectteam.
Coordination of engineering anddesign activities with other project disciplines.
Engineering man-hour estimatedevelopment.
Construction Cost Estimating.
Assist in schedule development aspart of interactive planning sessions with other project team members.
Maintain control of project pipingscope, budget, and schedule.
Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API andother applicable codes.
Oversite of the preparation ofplot plans, equipment layout, nozzle orientations
Coordinate development oforthographic and isometric drawings.
Generate/review pipingspecifications and obtain vendor quotation.
Provide input for vendor equipmentcoordination for piping.
Provide material take-off andcosts for project estimates.
Develop constructionspecifications and scope of work documentation.
Perform field verificationactivities since many projects are a retrofit nature.
Provide final checking, approvaland stamping of all design deliverables associated with piping.
Develop and evolve SOPs.
Support construction,commissioning and start-up activities.
Domestic and international travelis required.Up to 20% travel.
Must be able to work in OperatingPlant Environments
BS in Mechanical Engineering or arelated technical discipline with a minimum of 7 years’ experience.
Process acumen with Pipingexperience in pulp and paper, semiconductor, oil and gas, and/or chemicalindustries.
Familiarity with ASME PipingCodes.
Familiarity with ASME BPVC
Experience with Caesar II,
Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D,Smart Plant 3D, AutoCad, Navisworks.
Experience with laser scanning and3D Point Cloud software.
Requires strong communicationskills both verbal and written.
Valid drivers license required
