As a Safety Manager based at our client’s site in Kansas City, MO you’ll be responsible for safety inspections and guidance to ensure Contractor compliance with OSHA Standards and Site-Specific Safety Plans. The Safety Manager must be able to provide ongoing communication to management concerning the assessment of the HSE project performance with associated recommended proactive and/or corrective actions, provide governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the project HSE requirements. You’ll develop, plan, organize, coordinate, and monitor HSE Programs to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, along with Jacobs and the client’s policies and procedures.

You’ll assist the Project Management team to review and provide directive on project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) plans and hazard assessments, review contractors’ site-specific safety plans for compliance with the client’s standards and local regulations, verify contractors are monitoring safety compliance with their site-specific safety plans and local regulations and review contractor incident investigations and provide comments on investigations and related trends. Participate in pre-construction and pre-mobilization meetings and provide reports to the project team documenting compliance issues, safety related challenges, incidents, and observations.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction, or related field

  • 10+ years of construction project safety experience on large construction projects /programs

  • Certified Safety Professional certification (CSP)

  • OSHA 30-Hour Training Card in Construction Standard issued within the last 5-years

  • Understanding and application of NFPA, NEC, ANSI, State Fire Code, etc., and any Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)

  • Working knowledge in regulatory compliance, as well as all federal, state and local agency requirements

  • Must be familiar with applicable local, state, and OSHA rules, regulations, and standards

  • Ability to create dashboards and reports along with strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings to contractors, client, and project team members

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • OSHA 500 Certification

  • Previous Data Center construction experience
