As a member of the Command and Control Systems Simulation Team, candidates will perform a multi-discipline role as Simulation Software Integration and Test Engineer in the development and operation of NASA's Spaceport Command and Control System (SCCS). Under general supervision, the candidate will provide integration and testing support for an integrated simulation environment as a bridge between simulation providers and stakeholders. Work activities will include elements of:
System Integration/Test: understanding the software execution environment, operational testing of software interfaces, testing of simulation model dynamics, reporting on configuration and testing status.
Test Automation: software development to support automated regression testing.
Systems engineering: understanding stakeholder systems and use cases, requirements management, communication of cross program requirements, and maintenance of Interface Control Documents.
Other job duties as assigned in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the team.
Multiple shift work and/or travel may be occasionally required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS degree in software, electrical, or a related engineering field or engineering discipline; or Computer Science from an accredited engineering school plus 1-8 years of relevant experience desired. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.
Candidates should be self-motivated, team players who thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills
Excellent technical writing skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
Experience with Linux and networked systems
Experience in systems engineering, integration and test
Experience with simulation system integration
Software development experience
