Your Impact:

Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g. radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, or navigational aids) ; personal and mainframe computers and terminals; industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotics devices. Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operations. Performs such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using complex instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complete problems by interpreting manufactures’ annuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with he interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • High School Education or equivalent.

  • Four (4) years journeyman level experiences as an electronics technician.

  • Four (4) years’ experience maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems and equipment.

  • Must be able to install conductor and fiber optic cable using electrical metallic tubing, intermediate metal conduit or rigid metal conduit.

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with pneumatic controls, mechanical telemetry devices, computer software, transducers, pressure gauges and other common electronic equipment.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical specifications

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

  • Must have and wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-05 standards when entering industrial areas.

  • Successful candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
