As a Structural Design Engineer, you will have the chance working with other members of the structural team to deliver projects of varying complexity and size. Responsible for daily tasks involved in design of facilities and structures. Under general supervision, perform all aspects of design on facility and infrastructure design projects. This includes performing actual design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and/or coordinating design and construction activities, studies, planning, programming, and various analyses. Develop design criteria such as gravity loads, wind and seismic. Performs calculations for design of structural members of steel, concrete and masonry. Possesses a thorough knowledge of statics, strength of materials, finite element modeling, and building/structure systems. Able to provide technical guidance to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers. Possesses thorough knowledge of multiple subject areas and other design disciplines, and understands how own discipline integrates with and impacts other disciplines.
BS graduate Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis, from ABET accredited school required
Experience with structural analysis software (i.e., STAAD, RAM, Structural Point, etc)
PE Registration required
7 years experience including ports, marine and heavy industrial structures
US citizen with current Driver’s License (US State) required
MS graduate Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis, from ABET accredited school preferred
Experience in 2D AutoCAD drafting and 3D/BIM modeling. Experience with Autodesk REVIT preferred
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills
