In the frame of ITER project, Jacobs is delivering nuclear design of individual I&C systems for the instrumentation and control of HVAC, Mechanical, Fluids and Electrical systems. To support these activities, the EC&I Department is reinforcing the team and is recruiting several I&C engineers.

Role & Responsibilities

As Instrumentation engineer, you will participate to the design development in an integrated team and under the responsibility of the Project Manager.

Your main role will be to write and deliver design documents in accordance with the applicable nuclear standards, project requirements and client’s expectation in terms of quality and schedule.

  • Writing of instrumentation design deliverables for sensors , actuators (pneumatic and electrical) and electronics devices according to nuclear or industrial standards :

  • Process and instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs)

  • Selection of pre-existing equipment

  • Suitability analysis

  • Sensors & actuators specification documentation

  • Sensors & actuators typical Schematics

  • Standard Hook-up (Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic)

  • Control Loop Diagrams

  • Definition of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF)

  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Determination

  • Equipment List

  • Supplier Datasheets

  • Cables list

  • Participation to coordination meeting with the I&C team

  • Participation to technical meetings and design review with the client

  • Comment’s treatment and documentation update according to reviews

  • Follow-up of the Forward Action Plan

  • Preparation of technical presentation for internal/external meetings

  • Reporting to the Project Manager

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Master or equivalent in I&C systems, Electrical engineering or other relevant discipline.

  • Experience of 5 years in Nuclear or Oil & Gas instrumentation design development

  • Software : Good knowledge of Visio and/or AutoCad for drawings

  • Regulation : Knowledge of INB French Order 7 feb. 12

  • Standards : Good knowledge of IEC 61513 standard or 61508/61511 standard. Good Knowledge of ISA S 5.1 standard for P&IDs (control loop and tagname).

  • Hardware : Good knowledge of nuclear instrumentation (sensors, actuators), in particular pneumatic actuators and solenoid valves.

  • Good level of English (B2)
